“My Presence Will Go With You, And I Will Give You Rest!”
Like Moses of old we are tempted to put it straight to God, “If your presence does not go with us, do not send us from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?…”
Moses wanted the impossible, for as God said, “you cannot see my face, for no-one may see me and live.”
One does not need to see the face of God to know that he walks with one each step of the way. God has assured, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Christ the final revelation of God’s glory assures, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”(Mtt. 28:20b).
My friend, we walk by faith and not by sight. The Glory of the Lord is risen upon those he is pleased with and whom he knows by name.
It does not also mean that when God know you by name and walk with you, you will have a trouble-free life. He has not said life shall be all sunshine, but that when the storms rage he will be the peace!
Lift up your eyes to the cross of Calvary and the glory of the Lord will be revealed to you. And this is the glory: “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion”(Ex.33:12-23).
The glory of the Lord is goodness, mercy and compassion! To live in his presence is to show goodness, mercy and compassion to others in the same measure you’ve received from God! We are transformed when our actions reflect goodness, when we are merciful and compassionate!
One thing you must keep in mind, no matter the viscissitudes of life, God assures: “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest!”
Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for revealing the glory of the Father to me through the Holy Spirit. Amen!
Welcome back to work! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
