“Happy Palm Sunday!”
I recall the day when somebody sent me a text message which said, “Ba Synod Clerk, God always wins in the end.” I didn’t know the reason why that SMS was sent to me, so I responded, “I don’t know the reason for the SMS, but I totally agree with you that God always wins in the end.” Today I’m having my last laugh over that because God has actually won in the end and that person is licking his wounds. It is not as if I’m rejoicing about his shameful humiliating defeat in a church contest, but I’m just acknowledging that God is truly an awesome impartial Judge!
God has a way of doing things. He uses those who are against you out of self-interest to prophesy against themselves even when they think they are protesting against others!
In their diabolic plans against Jesus, the Pharisees prophetically acknowledged, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him”(Jn. 12:12-19).
Today is Palm Sunday, my in-boxes are inundated with palms and Palm Sunday messages. You church wo/man, as you bring a palm to church today singing “hossana to the son of David,” what is on your mind? How pure is your mind? Isn’t it strange that pastors of all people and church workers who should know better than others are the very ones who during this season of Lent have been holding meetings left and right on how to eliminate their adversaries? Then after such meetings they are the very ones urging Christians to go for Lent services!
My friend, God cannot be mocked! What will be, will be! Jesus walked on palm just to die a few days after, yet his death wasn’t fatalistic! He died so that even his killers could benefit eternity!
Infact, “God always wins in the end!” There is a preordained limit to human machinations; Fear God and value the blood of Christ!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, in these last days give me strength to stand firm in the face of adversity. Amen.
I wish you a happy and blessed Palm Sunday! Peace be with you!
