“Listen To The Voice Of Jesus, Follow Him And Be Secured!”
Before the destruction of Sodom, Abraham pleaded for the last time, “What if only ten can be found there?” And the Lord said, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”(Gen. 18:32). This story shows the depth of God’s love and compassion.
There are still some good people. I may not be one of them, you too may not be one of them; but we must in our daily walk of faith make concrete efforts to belong to the sheepfold of Jesus Christ the good shepherd.
Baptism is not enough to make us children of the redeemed! Jesus says, “My sheep listen to my voice, I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no-one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no-one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one”(Jn.10:27-30).
My friend, your security is in Jesus Christ and his Father if you “listen to his voice,” and “follow him.” In which case “no-one can snatch you from them!”
Yea, “if you want to remain secure in Jesus, then listen to his voice and follow him! There are so many very enchanting voices out there calling and promising what are seemingly life fulfilling; but which in truth are agents of satan! Amidst the cacophony, listen keenly to the voice of Jesus and follow him by obeying and doing his will!
Prayer: Holy Spirit, in the midst of the cacophony of clamouring voices, help me to always listen to the voice of Jesus Christ and to follow him in my thoughts, words and deeds. Amen!
