“Bury Your Sins With Jesus Christ!”
When your physical eyes gaze into space you may not see anything. But when your spiritual eyes gaze into that same space you see what your physical eyes could not see.
Whatever is in the physical is transient because it is subject to corruption and decay. But the things of the spirit are eternal and incorruptible.
The presence of Jesus Christ in the world makes all things new. Old words take on new meanings. The old is filled with new content. With the coming of Christ the old understanding of circumcision receives new understanding.
Within the old framework circumcision was a physical excercise of cutting the foreskin off the genital organ of a male humanbeing; which in biblical terms was the seal of an everlasting covenant between God and man.
In the new dispensation circumcision is done by Christ when through baptism we bury our sinful nature.
The sinful nature is buried with Christ through baptism so that we are raised with him through our faith in the power of God who raised Jesus from the dead (Col.2:11-12).
Jesus has freed us of the dirt of sin which clung on us like a foreskin on the male genital organ. We should deliberately and intentionally move away from sin as we place our faith in the power of God through which nothing is impossible. Move away from whatever would entice you and lure you back to the old path of destruction!
Prayer of the week: Lord Jesus Christ keep me in your grace and free me of presumptuous sin. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
