“Dreams That Secure The Future!”(Mt.1:18-25).
We have come to know only Joseph the son of Jacob as “Joseph the dreamer.”
Joseph the foster father of Jesus was also a dreamer.
Joseph must have been heartbroken when he saw that Mary, his wife-to-be was pregnant. Since he was a righteous man he didn’t want to divorce Mary in public.
But then, he had a dream and an angel told him to accept Mary with her pregnancy. The child was fathered by the Holy Spirit and was to be named “Jesus” “because he will save the people from their sins.”
Baby Jesus was saved from Herod when in a dream an angel asked Joseph to take Jesus and Mary and seek refuge in Egypt (Mt.2:13-15). In yet another dream, Joseph was asked to return to Israel when Herod died(Mt.2:19-21).
Through Joseph’s dreams Mary was spared shame and disgrace, and Jesus’ life was spared in babyhood.
How prophetic are your dreams? Prophetic dreams only happen when one’s spirit is in alignment with the divine. Dreams of divine visitation is far removed from hallucinatory nightmarish dreams.
Living in dreamland is utopian where people build castles in the air, but divine dreams carry messages that are beneficial to humanity.
Hold on to your dream if your spirit is in harmony with the Spirit of God. God speak to us in dreams and visions.
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit inspire me with dreams that bring succor to many. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
