“Keep My Ways And Be Blessed!”(Prv. 8:22-32).
Some New Testament writings draw inspiration from (especially chapter eight of) the Book of Proverbs to describe Christ as the eternal Wisdom of God. Though the passage does not explicitly name Christ, it somehow clarify us of the worry raised in the creation story of Genesis when God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…”(Gen. 1:26). Who is the “us” and the “our” in this creation story?
This “Wisdom literature ” rests our worries when it states that the LORD brought forth wisdom as the first of his works. The personified wisdom says, ‘I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began…” Wisdom is therefore the eternal incarnate Christ who was with God and was God.
This week we are reflecting on depending solely on God without any idol alongside him; and also obedience to him alone. Wisdom tells us today, “Now then, my sons, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways.”
Therefore my friend, keep the Lord’s ways and be blessed.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, in my journey of faith, guide me to always keep the Lord’s ways. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
