“Preach The Unsearchable Riches Of Christ!”(Eph. 3:7-12).
“I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. “ This is Paul’s testimony of his call and mission. We can very much identify with Paul, even when he says, “Although I am less than the least of God’s people…”
Whoever has answered the call has a testimony to give for the encounter. The Lord Jesus Christ says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit- fruit that will last…”(Jn. 15:16).
We do not decide to become, it is the LORD who calls and appoints. We only respond.
Our response is the working of grace; and the assignment is to “preach to the ‘Gentiles’ the unsearchable riches of Christ and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things…” (We take Gentiles to represent all who are non-jews).
God was waiting for the right time when “through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Jesus our Lord.”
“The authorities and powers in the heavenly realms are imaged by the authorities and powers of the earthly realms who divide the word as “We and Them.” By their very nature they are antiChrist. Now that God has raised Christ above all authorities and powers, the church of Christ is the earthly channel through which this mystery is revealed and actualized.
This is to say the church militant is the instrument to challenge the antiChrist; also uniting and reconciling a divided world in the one body of Christ.
“In Christ and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”
Faith makes us bold and free. By faith we are confident to smash those rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms. In Christ we are overcomers!
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit keep strengthening my faith in Christ so that I can approach God with freedom and confidence. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
