“Washed In The Blood Of The Lamb!”(Rev.7:9-17)[24/11/24].
What distinguishes people on tribal and ethnic lines is language. Here is where what happened at Babel is the source of tribal and ethnic tensions based on linguistic differences. From Babel thereon humans have taken the division of Babel to become a means of promoting tribal and ethnic interests. Worst still, since by some mishap of creation’s designing there are racial differences, these tensions have added race to become part of the reason for tensions between people who were erstwhile sons and daughters of one origin.
Before Babel they spoke one language, and this was a source of strength since “unity is strength.” What happened at Babel was a punishment for the abuse of the strength found in unity! The upper class united to oppress the masses through the construction of the tower of Babel. They also used unity to make a name for themselves by constructing a tower that had to reach heaven; thus rivaling God and minimizing his strength, power and authority.
Today, God in Christ and through Christ is uniting the diversity created at Babel in what we should see as “unity in diversity.”
What unites is Christ alone who brings together the “great multitude that one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language.” This is not going to happen in the sense of old Jewish belief that they are saved on account of being Jews. This is going to happen in the sense that these ones “are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
My friend, will you be counted in the number? Take note there is no material or financial gain for being in the number! The gain is that we the chosen are going to be before the throne of God to serve him day and night…and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over…” us.
And then, though we may have been weeping all night, our joy will come in the morning. “For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be our shepherd, leading us to springs of living water. And God will wipe every tear from our eyes.
Wash yourself therefore in the blood of the Lamb.
Sunday prayer: Lord Jesus Christ accept me as I am and wash me in your blood. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you! Happy Rally day for the Christian Women Fellowship of the PCC!
