“I Will Return To You With Mercy!”(Zec.1:7-18)[08/12/2024).
Once upon a time, God was angry with Israel, his chosen one. He vented his anger by using the Assyrians and Babylonians to punish her. However, these countries went too far as they set out to destroy Israel as a people.
If God feels that at one point we have forgotten our first love, it is because he, too, has not forgotten his first love. Those whom the LORD has placed a seal on remain his own forever. But it is necessary to punish the child you love
and that doesn’t mean you hate the child.
In a vision prophet, Zechariah, through an angel, thought Israel’s punishment was too heavy for them
while the rest of the whole world was at rest and peace.
The angel of the LORD was concerned and asked, “How long will you withhold mercy from Jerusalem and from the towns of Judah, which you have been angry with these seventy years?”
My friend, there comes a time in every life when the troubling question that refuses to go away is,“LORD Almighty, how long will you withhold mercy” from me/us?”
The Unchanging LORD responds with kind and comforting words, I am very jealous for the ones I love, but I am very angry with those who feel secure. I was only a little angry, but they added to the calamity. I will return with mercy to my loved ones, and my house will be rebuilt as I make each heart the temple of the LORD. My people will again flow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort them.
Our God will not shame us! We are going to be restored through the Christ. Let us be in the right spirit to receive him by uprooting the weeds that disrupt the wheat from healthy growth.
Dear friend, as we strive to enter by the narrow door, let us walk by faith and not by sight!
Sunday prayer: Holy Spirit, weed out the weed in us to enable healthy growth for the wheat in us. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you! Happy Rally celebration to the men of the PCC!
