“How Beautiful On The Keyboard Is The Finger That Presses The Share Button For The Good News!”(Is.52:7-10).
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation…Burst into songs of joy together…for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem…all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.”
In the time of Isaiah, it was the norm for swift messengers to leave the battlefield to go and report the good news of victory to the king. Today, the narrative has changed. Within the twinkle of an eye, the king is able to know the direction in which the war is going – whether towards victory or defeat.
However, we should concentrate on the content of the message, which is to ” bring good news…proclaim peace, …bring good tidings, and proclaim salvation…”
Such good news is something to be joyful about. So the prophet asks us to “Burst into songs of joy together…for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem…all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.”
The paradigm shift in the narrative is that the ends of the earth are not mere observers of the salvation of Jerusalem. We all are participating observers.
God’s redemption through Christ is all-inclusive. The good news we proclaim at Christmas is Christ, the Prince of Peace; the one who has brought us salvation.
Through Christ, God puts an end to Jewish exclusivism as he reaches out to all peoples everywhere that whosoever believes in the son should not perish but have everlasting life.
This is good news indeed! Hallelujah!
If you have benefited the good news, then pass it on! How beautiful on the keyboard are the fingers that press the share button for the good news!
Prayer of the day and week: LORD, thank you for the all-inclusive good news. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working day and week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
