“Commended For Approval By The Lord!”(II Cor.10:13-17).
Among the wisdom sayings that I learned from the late Very Rev Nyansako-ni-Nku is, “A tree does not make noise when it is still growing up.” For one thing, there are factors inhibiting the making of noise by the growing tree. The already grown trees block the wind that blows across and cause trees to make noise. Besides, the growing tree has the major interest of wading its way through growth so that it can bypass the big trees and get to the height where it receives its own direct sunlight.el
There are various ministries in the body of Christ. None of us in the household of faith can claim to know it all or be able to do it all.
God sent our ancestors Adam and Eve out of Eden already with a division of labour. Modern-day economists have only elaborated on that original division of labour.
Division of labour gives birth to specialisation. With specialisation, each person learns to run in his own lane. So to say, when we specialise, we also know our limits, and this also means we learn to appreciate others in their own fields.
Dear Christian friend, our knowledge about knowing our limits does not make anyone of us less significant before the LORD. Knowing our limits gives us the opportunity to appreciate and encourage others for their hard work within the domains of their specific calling.
In this life, we run the race on our own lanes without comparing ourselves with anybody.
As Christians, we put in our best efforts – not to impress anybody, nor to flex our egos –
What is important is for us to keep doing the good work of God as a thankful response for his grace and mercy upon us, and not as a means to gain recognition or to exhibit pomposity, thus leading to meaningless boastfulnes!
Whenever we have the opportunity to boast – which is our right – we shouldn’t boast about what we have done. We should boast about what the LORD has done through us!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, declare us approved through your commendation. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
