“Thank The Lord For His Mercy And Unlimited Patience On You!”
Nobody is going to hold our past against us if we have known the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to possess us. But as it is, it is easier said than done.
Paul writes about his life that he lived in constant thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ “who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus…”
In fact, Paul talks of himself as if he is talking about me – maybe about you too! He continues, “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life…” For this Christ deserves all the accolades of glory for all times.
It is negative if you talk about yourself as being a hero. But if you are telling where you were before Christ met you and how you are faring since you encountered him, fine! That becomes an encouragement for others to learn from you. That notwithstanding, while we are still on this journey we do ocassionally stumble, slide and sometimes fall, but we must get up, clean ourselves, ask for pardon from God who is always there to assure us, “son/ daughter, my grace is sufficient for you.”
My friend, let us always make the effort to return to the Lord. It is never to late to return to the Lord! He has unlimited patience!
Weekend Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for your unlimited patience for dying for me, the worst of sinners. Holy Spirit fill me with spiritual strength to remain in Christ. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
