“Make God’s Abundant Life Possible!”
Isaiah prophesied a glorious time when “the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the water covers the sea.” At that time creatures that prey or are prey to other creatures will live together peaceably. Such a time of absolute bliss and conviviality that “the infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper’s nest.” On God’s holy mountain “they will neither harm nor destroy…”(11:6-9).
All through the week we have dwelt on messages that makes such a time possible.
We round up the week with a text from Revelation that is a nostalgic reflection of such a time which Isaiah forsaw.
This is not an imaginary utopic heaven! It is the picture of “paradise on earth” realising the Isaiah passage above cited.
The song writer captured it in his own way, “The time to be happy is now, and the place to be happy is here. And the way to be happy is to make someone happy and we’ll find a little heaven down here!”
Yes, a few verses packed with abundance and excess that there is no reason to curse! Cursing is always caused by lack of something, be it physical, moral or spiritual deficiency!
The abundance include:
The river of the water of life, as clear as crystal.
The tree of life yielding its fruit every month, and its leaves for the healing of the nations.
No more need for curses.
God and Christ fully established on earth within the souls of his people through genuine love.
Finally, there will be no need for any kind of light because God himself will be the source of an all time light(Rev.22:1-5).
What a time! A time that is possible when you and I free ourselves of evil and love as God in Christ loves us! The fulfilment of that time which as Jeremiah foretold, no-one will teach the other to know the Lord, for the law of the Lord will be written in every heart!
Weekend Prayer: Lord dwell in our hearts so that we can make the little heaven down here. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
