“The Compassionate Jesus Is The Solution To Your Problem!”
Once I visited in my in-law’s compound and a five-year girl who had grown out of the village (born for coast) was asked to come and greet me. She came to me and said “Ba Mfon, u lahndi?”(Ba Mfon, good morning) They told her that was not the way to greet me. She extended her hand towards me and said, “Ba Mfon, come and greet me!” It was a real moment of laughter because I’m a subchief in Bali. You don’t shake hands with title holders unless they offer a handshake gesture first.
What I’m trying to point out is that this generation forgets too soon that you approach a superior with humility; especially when you want a favour from him or her!
Today our inspiration is from the man whom Jesus healed of leprosy. We already know that Jesus is a miracle worker. My concern today is how we approach him for the miracle and our aftermath reaction.
Mark whose gospel is believed to be the first writes that “A man with leprosy came to Jesus and begged him on his knees, ‘If you are willing, you can make me clean.'” We are further made to know that “filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man and said, ‘I am willing, be clean!'” Jesus also asked the man not to publicise what had happened to him, but the fool went broadcasting it everywhere. Take note that not everybody who laughs with you wants your situation to improve! (Mk.1:40-45).
My friend, whatever your problem is, the compassionate Jesus is ever readily willing to solve it for you! All that is required of you is to ask him with humble submission!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I am on my knees pleading that you come to my rescue. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
