“Declare The Glory Of God; Proclaim The Works Of His Hands!”(Ps.19:1-6).
The first question in the old Basel Mission Catechism is, “For what do we live?” After listing some of the mundane reasons for which we have conditioned our minds to think are the reasons for our existence, the answer is given that “We live for God.”
God has revealed himself through creation. The orderliness and obedience demonstrated by the sun, moon, daylight and night should be an example to us of what is expected of us by the creator. Unalloyed submission and obedience.
Paul says there is no excuse for people anywhere to claim ignorance of the knowledge of God.“For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God, nor gave thanks to him…”(Rom. 1:20-21).
The psalmist refreshes us, “The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the works of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard…”
There is in fact no excuse for us who are created in God’s image not to join the heavens and the skies to daily declare the glory of God and proclaim the works of his hands.
Let us learn from nature to declare the wonders of God. There is no miracle greater than seeing the light of a new day and being able to walk and work in it – just because God loves you. Be thankful for life!
Prayer; Holy Spirit help me to learn from nature to declare the glory of God and proclaim the works of his hands. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
