“Forgive Your Adversaries; They Are Merely Tools In God’s Hands!”
It was a very emotional and tensed moment when Joseph revealed himself to his brothers who had sold him into slavery. Joseph wept so loudly that even “Pharaoh’s household heard about it.” On their part the brothers couldn’t answer him “because they were terrified at his presence.”
The spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation is captured in Joseph’s words to his brothers: “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold to Egypt. And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you…God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So Then It Was Not You Who Sent Me Here, But God…Then he threw his arms around Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin embraced him, weeping. And he kissed all his brothers and wept over them…”(Gen. 45:1-15).
Quite often in life you find close aides, close allies and close relations ganging up to destroy you! Do not bear any grudge against them if you know for certain that God works in mysterious ways!
“God’s ways are not our ways.” The slavery plan, well crafted and executed for Joseph was God’s plan of glory for Joseph to save the lives of others and of his brothers by a great deliverance.”
Joseph has been considered a prototype of Jesus Christ who had to suffer humiliation in the hands of his brothers, Portifer’s wife, Portifer and imprisonment, but was elevated to the second highest position in the land so that he could save the lives of the very people through whom he suffered disgrace and humiliation! God’s ways are not our ways!
What others see as your slavery is God’s route to your glory!
But it is not about you; God uses you to save the lives of others! Bottom line dear friend is, bear no grudge against those who seek to destroy you as you journey in life! They are merely tools in God’s hands which he uses for his own purpose!
Reconcile with those who seek to destroy you as long as they are open to it! See the hand of God in every milestone because every obstacle is simply a mirage!
Prayer: Father God help me to see your plan for my life in any plan made to destroy me! Give me a conciliatory spirit to face all foes. Amen!
