“God Is Watching Your Back!”
The plot mounted by the chief priests and the pharisees to eliminate Jesus thickens. These were religious authorities who ought to have been appreciating what Jesus was doing. They acknowledged that Jesus “performs many signs,” which if allowed to continue, “everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.” Position, power, social status, political and personal interests were the reasons why Jesus must be eliminated.
How naive they were! They didn’t realise that it was better for one man to die for the people so that the whole nation should not perish.
“So from that day on they made plans to put him to death.” In this life there are some who in God’s name will go to any length to eliminate anyone who stands on the way of their interests!
In all these intrigues, let us take an important lesson from Jesus. Once they hatched the plot against Jesus, he “No longer walked openly among the Jews…” He rather withdrew to a region near the wilderness and stayed there with his disciples.
There was a price on his head. Orders were given that “if anyone knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him”(Jn. 11:47-57).
Jesus knew he will die, but he had not yet accomplished his mission, so he had to stay safe until the appointed time!
Lesson learned: Never allow yourself exposed to the enemy because according to you it is in God’s plan! Hide from them until God’s appointed time when you can die gladly because your mission is accomplished!
To be on the Lord’s side is full of dangers, but trust the Lord to keep you till his work is accomplished through you! Each person has a special kingdom assignment to save souls, which must be fulfilled! Until it is done, God is watching your back!
Prayer: Holy Spirit give me the wisdom to stay safe till my travelling days are done. Amen!
Happy and blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
