“God Loves You Always!”
In Africa we believe that when you spare the rod you spoil the child. But we also know that in other parts of the word just shouting at a child is enough for the child to call 911 and report you of harrassment.
Where there is discipline, an offense must have been committed. Any parent who loves the child disciplines the child for the child’s good.
When a child has fever you give the child quinine and tell the child the quinine is bitter but will cure the fever. You do not give the child sugar or honey because they are sweet; for they can’t cure the fever.
In the same way “God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness…” Therefore friend, “do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”
Whatever the discipline comes to you, knowing fully well that it is a result of your sin bear it with remorsefulness, knowing that no matter how painful it is, it will “produce a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it”(Heb.12:4-11).
Learn therefore to accept the discipline of the Lord for he does so out of love! Be mindful also that whatever you do thinking that you have outsmarted God, nemesis will eventually catch up on you! God cannot be mocked!
Weekend prayer: Lord, I accept your discipline because I have not resisted sin entirely. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
