God’s Unfailing Promise!”(Is. 43:1-7).
A clergyman dressed in his clerical shirt entered a restaurant for a bite. An atheist came and sat on the same table and started saying, “There is no God, there is no God.”
The clergyman responded, “I know; even the Bible says so.” The atheist was surprised to hear that the Bible says there is no God. So he asked with curiosity. “Is that true?” The clergyman told him that the Bible says, “The fool says in his heart that there is no God. But the biblical fool was a better fool because he only said it in his heart, unlike you who go shouting it everywhere.”
Truth be told, humanity is made to depend on a being/something higher than human. We cannot live without religion.
The old gods may be abandoned for the new gods of capitalism and freeminds, or whatever. Each time whoever says, “there is no God,” or that “God does not exist,” that person’s consciousness was thinking about God. Who can say a table does not exist if he has no idea of a table? The person who says there is a God and the one who says there is no God are both preoccupied with God.
We are always faced with choices. And when we make our choices we must embrace its consequences and deal with it within context. Someone has said, “when you pray for rain, be ready to deal with the mud.”
We believe a God who is a God of love, but he is also a God of good times and bad times.
Our God is very much aware of the bad times, but his love is unfailing. In our times of despair he promises hope. He says, “…Fear not, for I have redeemed you…I will be with you…Do not be afraid, for I am with you…I will bring…everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”
Yes, the LORD does not abandon his own. He washes them in the blood of his Lamb and gives them new life.
Put your trust in him and leave it there.
Prayer: Thank you LORD for you’ve not abandoned us; neither have you forsaken us. Amen! Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
