“Holy Spirit, Speak Through Me!”
Jesus states clearly that to be for him is to face opposition from comfortable quarters. He says, “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must be preached to all nations…”
Being a messenger of the gospel must not always be when you are in comfortable conditions and environments. Paul’s ministry is a typical example. A cross section of his letters were written in prison. While in prison he converted many souls.
Jesus prepared us for such hardships, “Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit”(Mk.13:9-11).
In the face of persecution the Holy Spirit will speak through you to convert others to the gospel. What is this gospel we keep talking about? The gospel is “Goodnews!” Goodnews is love, kindness, hospitality, generosity, peace and true fellowship! Each person has been equiped to preach the gospel, to live the gospel and be the gospel!
Where the gospel is preached and lived, mercy and grace reigns supreme above law! Where the gospel is lived the power of love overshadows the love of power! When the gospel is made liveable fear, anger, jealousy, vengeance and hatred disappears! When the Holy Spirit leads love overcomes hatred and war!
Prayer: Holy Spirit inspire me in every situation to speak words of healing that makes the gospel liveable and lovable. Amen!
