“Jesus Christ Alone Is Your Problem Solver!”
In Jewish understanding sin was the cause of sickness, including infirmities. But since it takes time to change mindsets and a people’s worldview, when the disciples saw a man born blind from birth, they asked to know if the man was born blind due to the sins of his parents or his own sins?
By asking this question they had forgotten that God had spoken through Ezekiel that parents cannot eat sour grapes and the children’s teeth get on edge. Every shoulder carries its own head.
Jesus gave his disciples a new theological orientation on the relationship between sin and sickness. “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming when no-one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
Powerful words indeed from Jesus the light of the world!
Jesus used some of the most potent medicines known by traditional African healers to cleanse the mans eyes: he spat on the ground, made some mud with saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes” and told him, ” Go wash in the pool of Siloam.” “So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.”
As usual it raised a controversy between Jesus and the Pharisees some of whom thought he was not from God because he did not respect the Sabbath. “But others asked, ‘How can a sinner do such miraculous signs?’ So they were divided…” (Jn.9:1-17).
My friend, what is the infirmity in your life or family troubling you? You have surely heard it from both prophets and diviners that it is a generational curse that has held you bondage! Do not fall for that deception anymore! Bring your problems to Jesus in faith! He is still the light of the world and is still doing the works of the one who sent him in your life! Your story is still being written!
Orthopaedic centres, eye hospitals and medical institutions in general are still continuing arms through which Jesus Christ is performing his miracles because he also used medicine: spittle, mud and water to give sight to the man born blind! All miracles must not happen only in Church! When God promises you a child, the miracle will take place in the bedroom, not in the Church.
Other than this may your enemies be divided against themselves as they argue whether you are a good person or not! God alone knows the truth!
Weekend prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, open my spiritual eyes so that I can see your marvelous works of grace in my life and give glory to the Father. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
