“Make Yourself Worthy To Sing The Song Of Moses And Of The Lamb!”(Rev.15:2-4).
The psalmist says the person who can ascend the hill of the LORD and who may stand in his holy place is, “He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false…”(24:3-4).
This is in the same way that in heaven those who are worthy to sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb are “…those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name…” These ones hold harps given them by God and singing the song of Moses, the servant of God and the song of the Lamb.”
The song of Moses(Ex. 15:1-18) was first sung to celebrate the deliverance through the Red Sea. The crossing of the Red Sea was a victory of overcomers. Pharaoh and his chariots drowned in the sea because he was not worthy to ascend the hill of the LORD.
In the same way heaven is for the saints who have come out victorious after overcoming the devil. These ones can sing and play the harps given to them by the LORD himself.
The song of Moses was sung on Sabbath evenings in the synagogue celebrating Israel’s deliverance from Egypt.
In the same way that the song of Moses dwelt on the awesome acts of God’s deliverance, so too is the song of the Lamb.: “Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways…All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
Dear friend, all through the week we have focused on praise and worship of God. As we end the week, let us make ourselves worthy of being in God’s presence on that day; with harps given by him. Then we too will sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb.
Weekend prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, adorn me with the armour to overcome the devil so as to sing of the great and marvelous deeds of the Almighty God. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
