May The Hand Of The Lord Be Upon You Wherever You Are!”
Ezekiel was a priest, the son of a priest, but the vision did not come to him in the temple nor at any sanctuary. It came by a riverside. Even there by the riverside, “there the hand of the Lord was upon him.”
God is too big to be caged in a building or given a special shape. His glory is revealed in the open and in shapeless forms that can be discerned only by the person seeing the vision.
Ezekiel saw how the radiance around God was like “the appearance of rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day.” A day may be rainy and you are forced to remain indoors, but when you are bold to brave the weather, you would see the rainbow and its bright multi-colours can bring joy and relief to the heart!
My friend, find time to stay away from your normal routine. Spend time with nature and in the naturalness of God’s beautiful creation your contemplative mind will lead you to see the glory of God. He will reveal himself to you and tell you what to do so that you are not fooled by what you do which he has not asked you to do!
Jesus thaught us this lesson. He always withdrew to the mountains, or gardens or a lonely place to pray. Yes, Ezekiel was commissioned by a riverside.
Ezekiel concludes this preliminary encouter thus: “When I saw it, I fell facecdown, and I heard the voice of one speaking”(1:1-28).
May the glory of the Lord be revealed to you as you seek his face in friendship with nature!
Prayer: Lord, may your hand be with me in my daily walk so that I can hear your voice, see and marvel your glory. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
