“Open Your Heart To The Message Of Salvation!”
The threefold ministry of Jesus which he bequeathed to us is, preaching, teaching and healing. The world is full of ignorance that is why the teaching of heavenly truths is essential. Preaching follows in the same line. The world is in dire need of the enlightenment that comes through the word of God. And of course, the world is full of malaise of all sorts. People need healing!
Ignorance and sin contributes highly to the human predicament called sickness, often culminating in death.
To fulfill this threefold mission, church ministers must be itinerant in nature. As such they should not encumber themselves with material luxury because such causes divided attention.
Today we are told how “Jesus went round teaching from village to village.” Those who find comfort only in cities should know that Jesus has greater concerns for the margins than the centre.
Jesus also called out the Twelve and “sent them out two by two and gave them authority over evil spirits… They went out and preached that people should repent. They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.”
They were to travel light and not to burden themselves with extra loads – “no bread, no money and no extra tunic”(Mk. 6:7-13). Unlike today when ministers boast of their wealth and their worth! Unlike today when ministers love to be escorted by a motorcade!
These things are a distraction and serves the antichrist more than serving Christ.
Dear friend, the content of the message has not changed. Hear the word and repent! The word has power over demon! If you are sick, receive anointing and be healed! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever!
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me to be welcoming to the messengers of the word and for the word to be hidden in my heart that I may not sin against the Lord. Amen!
