“Shun Evil; Work Hard!”(Prov.14:19-24).
The Bichang dance group of Bali sing, “You conspired against me and came back to tell me.” I see it in the same sense in which the wise man of the Bible said, “Evil men will bow down in the presence of the good…”
Those who plot evil go astray, “but those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.”
Another category of evil people are those who despise their neighbors. Despising your neighbor is sin, “but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.”
The same Bichang dance group sang, “If you are a rich man, your people will gather around you, and if you are a poor man, your people will run away from you. When coffee is ripe, relatives and friends gather around you, but when coffee is still flowering they all run away.”
Yes, my friend, “Money/wealth talks!” That is why one has to work hard so as to make profit. Let the reason of your poverty not be folly; let it be that some things are meant to be the way it is.
One thing we must bear in mind is that God is not going to condemn you because you were poor or rich.
If your poverty was the result of your laziness and spendtrift attitude, you’ll have a case to answer. If your riches is dishonestly acquired, you’ll have a case to answer. And if your wealth was honestly made but you were not kind to the needy, you’ll have a case to answer.
The LORD dispenses his grace, mercy, favor, blessing and love indiscriminately.
Whatever you receive from the LORD is to be shared so that the needy should feel the LORD through you.
Prayer: LORD, bless the works of my hands so that I can be a blessing to others. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
Rev Babila Fochang.
