“Stand Firm To The End!”(Mk.13:5-13).
Most times what attracts people to miracle centres is the belief that such places are solution centres for every human predicament.
Jesus is the answer, but it is not like in him life becomes a bed of roses. He tells us to cast our burdens on him because he cares for us. But it doesn’t mean he frees us of all burdens. On the contrary, he lifts off our heavy burdens and gives us his own which is lighter(Mt.11:29).
Someone said if you come to him seeking advice on something, he will first ask your opinion about the issue. When you tell him he will then give your opinion back to you as an advice. That is how charlatan miracle workers and ngambi people prey on our ignorance. Such deceptors take advantage of our gullibility and lure us to themselves by promising and some times giving us what we want.
Jesus himself said, as you wait for me, “watch out that no one decieves you. Many will come in my name claiming, ‘I am he, and will deceive many…” Even wars and rumours of wars are not signs of the end. Millennial predictors have had to modify their predictions about Christ’s second coming after 1000 years. The same has been the case with Jehovah Witnesses as the date they predicted to be the end of the world had long passed. The Lord says we shouldn’t be alarmed of wars and rumours of wars. “Such things must happen but the end is still to come.” Even natural dissasters here and there, and persecutions are still not signs of end times.
“You must be on your guard.” Inspite of any kind of persecution, “the gospel must first be preached to all nations.” The challenges we must pass through because of Christ may be manifold, “but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.”
Dear friend, while we wait for the coming of Christ, let us continue doing kingdom work as in, whatever our task, we work heartily as serving the Lord and not men.”
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me to stand firm to the end. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
