“The Glory Of The Father Through The Son!”(Jn.7:23-31).
Jesus’ brothers tried to lure him to accompany them to the Festival of Tabernacles. He refused to join them, but when they had gone, “he went also, not publicly, but in secret… halfway through the festival, he got up to the temple courts and began to teach…”(Jn.7:1-24).
It was at this point that a division arose as to his true identity. Some people wondered why the authorities allowed such public preaching without arresting him. They wondered if the authorities had finally concluded that he is the Messiah. “But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.” However, “many in the crowd believed in him. They said, ‘When the Messiah comes, will he perform more signs than this man?”
This is the problem which even today’s ministers of the gospel face. There is always the divided crowd concerning the harbingers of the good news.
Some people think that because they know everything about your background and pedigree, you do not qualify to be a Divine mouthpiece!
Jesus’ reply to those who think that they know him holds even for his messengers today: “You know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true. You do know know him, but I know him because I am from him and he sent me.”
When he said this, they tried to sieze him, but since the hour had not yet come, no one laid a hand on him.
God continues to reveal his Presence to us. Those who have faith see and believe, for no man can come who will perform greater signs than the Lord Jesus Christ.
My friend, the doubters and the coup plotters may team up against you simply because they claim to know your background and pedigree, carry on in faith because in their ignorance they do not know the person who has sent you.
Gospel carriers are mere messengers who are confident that they know who sent them.
You, dear friend, be among those who believe. Do not join the doubters and coup plotters!
Prayer: Holy Spirit, take the scales off our eyes so that with the eyes of faith, we can see the glory of the LORD in the words of his Son. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
