“The Great Light Is Here; Walk In It!”
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned…For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end…”(Is.9:2-9).
Sin is darkness. Jesus Christ is light. Where sin has made utter darkness, the great light has come to illuminate that darkness. Jesus Christ has freed us from the land of the shadow of death.
When we come to the light we too become the light for the world. Jesus says,“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven”(Mt.5:14-16).
Being the light is turning away from bad deeds and engaging your time in good deeds.
Yes, the great light is here; let us walk in it through good works.
Prayer of the week: Holy Spirit lead me to walk in the great light. Amen!
