“Unmerited Love!”(Tit.3:4-7)[30/12/2024].
“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”
The “But” which begins these few verses requires us to read backwards. And when we do so, we may read just verse three, which says, “At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.”
The kindness and love of God is what has saved us. We have not merited it because we have not worked for it.
We are born again through the Holy Spirit “poured out on us generously through Christ our Savior…”
Let us therefore live up to the expectations of the reason for God’s grace that we have received freely, but which cost Christ his blood.
Prayer of the day and week: LORD, we thank you for unmerited love. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working day and week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you! Merry Christmas and a prosperous and happy new year 2025.
