“You Are Set Free From Your Problem; Stand Up And Praise God!”
On one Sabbath while Jesus was teaching, he called a woman who had been crippled for eighteen years and healed her through words and a touch.
Full of indignation the synagogue ruler vented his anger on all the worshippers saying, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath. “
Jesus gave it back not only to the synagogue ruler but to the rest of his kind. Jesus answered, “You hypocrites!…” He wondered why they lead their donkeys or oxes out and feed them on the Sabbath yet will be angry because “a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what had bound her?”
This was hypocrisy indeed! No doubt all his oppenents were humiliated at this while “the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing”(Lk.13:10-17).
Mercy and justice stands above law. The law is made for man and when a law bars us from doing the good, then it is obnoxious!
No doubt that Jesus qualifies all those who hold on to such devilish laws with tenacity as “hypocrites!”
My friend, what is that bondage which Satan has held you down with for so long? Jesus is telling you even now: “My child, you are set free from your troubles!” Even now the Lord has touched you with his healing and soothing hands! Your troubles are over. Stand up and praise God like that woman did!
Jesus Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath and he is also the Lord of your life! It is well with your soul!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ touch me with your soothing hands and just say the word and I shall be healed. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
